Section off the bottom three layers of wefts and pin the rest of the hair out of the way. Mix up one cup of Isopropyl alcohol and Paynes grey acrylic ink into a large plastic jar which I cut down so that it was easier to use. Mix well.
Using my wide tooth comb I inserted it, with the teeth facing up towards me, about 4cm away from the roots. Let the hair fall in between the teeth of the comb.
Use a large blunt needle with a loop of string on it that you can slip onto your wrist. We will be making the foils in a similar fashion to weaving.
Weave the needle above the teeth of the comb up and down catching every second section of hair that the comb has evenly sectioned out for you. Holding the needle in one hand and the loop around your wrist on the other you can remove the comb letting the strands that you have not caught with your needle fall.
Grab the section of hair you have caught with your needle. Once you are holding this section of hair securely you can let go of the needle to dangle from your wrist. Clip this section out of the way while you positing the aluminium foil.
Clip the foil oblong to the other piece of hair that you let fall for the time being. Then release the section of hair you just clipped out of the way. Re-clip the foil to this section of hair which will be your foils. The aluminium foil will probably be about 1cm from the top of the weft because they are in layers of three wefts at a time.
Curl here up in to a ring so you can easily drop it into the dye mix.
Drop the section into the dye mix and using a sponge, sponge the dye up to the top of the foil. I did not worry too much about it dripping onto the other hair because I'm going to dye that black but I was as careful as I could be when using a liquid solution.
